How preferences work
Use simple entries such as Monday, P1, Monday P2 or 3. Blocked times are treated as unavailable. Preferred times receive a higher score when the tool has more than one valid placement.

Educational timetabling research describes the problem as hard constraints, such as teacher/class clashes and availability, plus soft objectives such as preferences, balanced workload and fewer idle gaps. This tool uses that structure in a fast browser heuristic suitable for small schools and coaching schedules.
